Examples of Web 2.0 include forums, social networking site, blogs, web applications, video sharing and more.
3 key examples of web 2.0 are Wikipedia, iTunes and YouTube. They are as follows:
Wikipedia is an encyclopedia written and updated by its readers where they can collaborate with other readers and update the information for other people to view, read and learn. It shows how Web 2.0 has changed to include people in the creation of websites and its contents from simply having an account and clicking edit.
- Log in / Create Account: Allows people to interact with the website by creating a profile to edit webpages in wiki.
- Read / Edit: Gives the viewer a chance to either read the documents posted by others or updating/editing the information on the site.
- Editing: Shows the reader what they are doing, i.e. Editing Interaction Design.
- Edit box: Gives the current documents text and layout to the viewer and allows changes or add ins to be made by inserting new text or images.
Itunes Ping has been introduced over the past year in an update of Itunes where it incorporates a user who has an account to interact with Itunes more by allowing friendships and being able to show your friends what music you like, what music you want and what you think they should listen to and buy.
YouTube is the currently the worlds biggest viewing media of videos. It allows people to create profiles in order for users to upload videos so friends, family and/or the public can view them, comment on them and allows you to subscribe to further videos and your profile.
